Kurdistan is a huge region stretching into a few countries, but mostly Iraq and Turkey. And the Turks won't budge an inch.

The American troops who discovered Saddam Hussein cowering in his spider hole were guided there by a clairvoyant, celebrity spoon bender Uri Geller claimed today.​

The psychic said a “remote viewer” told the US military where the former Iraqi dictator was, describing how they would find a trapdoor under a carpet.​

He said had seen official letters detailing how the information given, but could not reveal who his source was.​

“The discovery of Saddam Hussein was with the help of a remote viewer.​

“You don’t have to be a pyschic, you can be an intuitive, where you have a high rate of intuition.”​

The source used in Saddam’s December 2003 capture was probably an intuitive, he added.​

The US Defence Department did not comment on Mr Geller’s claim but referred to the briefing given by American commanders after Saddam was caught in where they said they acted on a tip-off.​

They later explained that it came from a detainee arrested the day before in Baghdad.​

Last year a Brazilian psychic tried to claim a 25 million dollar reward offered for the ex-dictator’s capture.​

He said he had described the hiding place near Tikrit in letters to the US government.​
