Le Galaxie released their new single Midnight Midnight as a free download last week ahead of their new album Laserdisc Nights 2 which is due for release on June 10th.
Le Galaxie have built up their reputation for their joyous, ceiling-melting live shows since they formed in 2008. Hit singles ‘We Bleed The Blood Of Androids’ and ‘You Feel The Fire’ – the latter’s video winning ‘Best Dance Video’ at the 2009 IMTV awards – and support slots with the likes of The Presets, The Whip, Au Revoir Simone, Brakes, I’m From Barcelona, Hadouken & New Young Pony Club have paved the blazing neon trail to the debut album in June 2011.
Meshing pounding techno rhythms, shimmering cyber-synths and cascading dream-streams of sonic guitar-wizardry, Le Galaxie have stamped their ‘grid vs. guitars’ ethos on Ireland. Following live mania, festival fury and UK magnificence in 2010, the band retreated to a secret location in…well it’s a secret (but let’s say it wasn’t on planet Earth), to record their debut album LASERDISC NIGHTS 2 which is released digitally on June 10th and physically on June 17th 2011.
The first single to be taken from the album is the mesmerizing Midnight Midnight, like a 3-way battle between Underworld, Vangelis and the Chemical Brothers with the fist-pumping energy of a Miami nightclub circa 1982. It receives its first official airing on Dan Hegarty’s show on 2FM on Wednesday March 30th, streaming from State.ie on Thursday March 31st and available for free mp3 download from Le Galaxie’s Soundcloud on Friday April 1st via www.legalaxie.net
Le Galaxie have been invited play at this years Europavox festival in France on May 27th, where they shall unleash LASERDISC NIGHTS 2 on an unsuspecting Europe. France shall kneel before Ireland’s frenzied live dance bastards.
Following on from their French voyages, Le Galaxie return to Dublin in preparation of their official album launch party in The Workman’s Club on June 17th. The venue itself shall be transformed into a thunder dome of furious light, dance and power and this is a party we fully guarantee you shall not want to miss.
