Declan de Barra has just released his debut album in Ireland on his own label Rogue Goat, distributed by Gael Linn. Song of A Thousand Birds features some of the cream of Irish contemporary musicians.

Rónán O’Snodaigh from Kila, Turlough Gunawardhana from The Chapters on cello, Richie Egan (AKA Jape) from Redneck Manifesto on bass, Cion O’Callaghan from Paddy Casey’s band on drums and renowned fiddle player Adrian Hart. Three of the songs also featurecontributions by former Clann Zú Australian band mates Russell Fawcus and Benjamin Andrews.
 
Hot on the heals of the launch of 'Song of a Thousand Birds' at crawdaddy with Julie Feeeney, Declan de Barra will be playing a special show at Bewleys theatre in Dublin on Friday 28th of April. Numbers will be limited and the the show will also be recorded live. Tickets available on the door at €10.
 
De Barra has just returned from European shows following rave reviews in both the international and Irish music press for 'Song of a Thousand Birds'. An accomplished painter and filmmaker Declan is also currently producing an animation for the track 'Apple tree' which will tour the Film festival circuit later in 2006.  A series of paintings based on "Song of a Thousand Birds which will be exhibited in September.
