Anthony Mackey is metal. A really good type of metal. Not that stuff that rusts and shit – he’s like a stainless steel or a polished aluminium – stuff that looks good and lasts a long time.

Best known for his work with Irish legends Large Mound his new solo effort sees him treading 11 paces down the path of pure rock joy. Loud and fun as hell it’s likely to be explosively good. Like one of those explosive metals. Like magnesium. Or Lithium. Or Mackeyium.

Anthony also put out a “side project” album in 2011 under the name Like There’s No Tomorrow.

Mackey is currently also guitar player in the psych pop band Hot Colossus.

Still Metal will be released on September 29th and will be available from https://anthonymackey.bandcamp.com. Anthony says if you enter ‘thumped’ at checkout you get a lovely discount too. #matesrates innit.
