Just in time for Christmas, The Middle Ages stuff your stocking with a live recording of your new favourite festive tune, Mr. Christmas
The Middle Ages, the rock band from Ireland, have recorded a special live version of a song for the season called Mr. Christmas. “I was having a pretty terrible year financially and just got some money that was owed to me” says Anthony Mackey, “at the same time the Apollo House protests were happening and it seemed like people were feeling good for the first time in a while”.
The song was recorded live in The Middle Ages’ rehearsal room with longtime filmmaker friend Ian Lawton looking after the video. “I always liked the song and often thought about changing the lyrics so that we could use the thing all year” continues Mackey “but then, the one thing this band is not short of is great songs”.
The Middle Ages is Anthony Mackey (Large Mound, Hot Colossus, Here Be Monsters), Greg (Hot Colossus, Dynamo Hum), Carroll (Fairuza, Octopuss Underground) and Chris (recent father of twins).
The Middle Ages play a free gig in The Bello Bar in Dublin on Saturday 26th January 2019, along with Ireland’s premiere Guided By Voices tribute act Voided By Ponces.
