anyone else familiar with this thing?

Basically, folks use youtube as a forum to show their records/recent purchases/whatever. stumbled upon it a while ago. some serious record collections in some quarters. For example,

have been exposed to a bunch of LPs that I wouldn't have heard of before from watching some vids. prog/jazz/psych records feature pretty strongly in what few vids i've seen
 
The first guy, Dereck (that's how he spells it). I've watched loads of his videos. He seems cool enough, gets a bit sometimes, bears his soul.
 
Yer man Dereck is kind of compelling, seems to have pretty good taste and explains why he likes the stuff well, but some of the clowns in this 'vinyl community' are ridiculous.

*holds up a copy of The Police's 'Ghost in the Machine'* - 'Yeah...so...I bought the Police's 'Ghost in the Machine'...good album...nice to have this album.'

who gives a fuck?!
