Xela with support from Sanso-Xtro
Lazybird
The International Bar
Sunday 6th March 2005 20:00 hrs.
Tickets: Eur 10 (incl. b/f) www.tickets.ie, City Discs and Road Records.
Xela (City Centre Offices, Neo Ouija):
Following his debut appearance in The Sugar Club last June to promote his critically acclaimed second album 'Tangled Wool' on City Centre Offices (check out Jim Carroll's four star review in The Ticket!), Xela returns to Dublin to play a show in the very intimate Lazybird Club, upstairs in The International Bar, on Sunday 6th March. Having acquired a guitarist and drummer to augment and enhance his own live guitar / laptop set, this will be (in Xela's own words) 'something very nice (and different)'.
'An Ulrich Schnauss strolling after a downbound train or a Four Tet enjoying a big bag of popcorn, this is music for the small hours and beyond' - Jim Carroll, The Ticket, June 2004. (http://www.ireland.com/theticket/articles/2004/0618/1086274495070.html)
Sanso-Xtro (Type Records):
Sanso-Xtro (Melissa Agate) returns to Dublin following a successful short tour as support to The Leaf Album in late 2004.
Her music is described as 'a perfect mixture of accoustic instruments and fragile digital manipulations'. Although Melissa regards herself as primarily a drummer, she can play a variety of instruments (including the all-important laptop) with such versatility and musicianship that her music is impossible to resist and has a depth and sincerity so many other artists lack. Her debut album entitled 'Sentimentalist' will be released in March 2005 on Type Records.
Xela plays Lazybird on Sunday 6th March with support from Sanso-Xtro.
