Playing in Whaleans on the evening of Monday, the 19th of March. I actually have a ticket for this so will be going, assuming I don't forget completely about it as I did with the Kurt Vile gig. I liked their album, hopefully the gig won't suck. Anyone else going?

no, never heard of them, but that will be a subdued affair. I was at a gig on the Paddy's day bank holiday monday before. People way too hungover to do anything but stand there.

Recommend something there for us to have a listen to.

It's a bit like a more neanderthal sounding British Sea Power. Good tunes though I think. Bummer about St Patrick's Day, never even thought of that. Apparently their show is fairly full on.

that sounds ok. Lyrics are a bit lame and if he sings like that in every song I could see myself getting a bit fed up of it.

The day after I get back for a visit after a 1.5-yr absence - ossum I was supposed to see them at Laneway in Singapore but they pulled out. Heard this last year and was into it. Like the album and am gig-starved enough to do this.

that Heavy Pop song is better than the other one. Not bad at all.

This was good. They had crowd whipped up into a froth by the end. They're a bit one dimensional though - their songs follow a formula and the singer doesn't seem to get enough melody into his vocals. I'd like to see them after their next album when they've dropped some of the filler.
