La La
i drink your milkshake
hey guys
so today was the first day and what a fuckin day it;s been. i have taken heaps of photos but am waiting to get them onto a cd before i post them up.
but here's the run down of day one:
the koreans peasant league and other anti-globalisation/capitalist groups marched to the designated protest area (a far cry closer than where we were allowed to get to Farmleigh!) and there were a couple of thousand people there.
so anyway then they (Koreans) fuckin throw themselves into the harbour and start swimming towards the Convention Centre (where the conference is being held)
then everyone starts mobilising towards the riot police (of which there are what seem like thousands) and then the Koreans got this huge big funeral pyre thing that they set on fire, fuck at the police (but the police had extinguished it at this stage), and the fighting begins. they police have so far used batons and pepper spray on protesters even though no violence has been started by protesters - these deterrents have been used when the police think their lines might be broken.
so far the mood has been light but of course passionate; there's been heaps of music, the Koreans have been making as much noise as possible, playing their drums and cymbals an all.
aaaaaanyway there's heaps more that i could waffle on about but i'll let the pictures speak for themselves which i promise to post up asap.
