Evening Thumpedites. More propaganda from the Wobble crew. Bass Clef is next up, he made his Dublin Debut in Lazybird so he should appeal to quite a few of you...
Wobble presents
BASS CLEF live (Blank Tapes)
Major Grave live (!kaboogie)
T-Woc live (Alphabet Set)
& Richie !kaboogie pon decks
Also, upstairs will feature Martelo (Santogold's DJ) alongside the A$$quake crew.
all on Friday April 17th in the Twisted Pepper. 12e in, 10e with a flyer.
Wobble are back with one of the most exciting live acts that the whole spectrum of big bass music has thrown up from its cavernous belly - BASS CLEF, fresh from his triumphant live show at the BLOC festival. Ralph Cumbers (for that is he) makes a glorious racket on record, you could file it under dubstep, but then you'd miss out on all the other influences - 2-Step, Soca, Booty Bass, Jazz, Electronica...all influences you'd expect from someone that grew up in Bristol and moved to East London.
The live show is another beast altogether - Ralph properly plays live, bringing his trombone and assorted other noisemakers alongside the carefully crafted sequenced beats and bass, pirate flags, improvised arrangement and a maelstrom of hand-percussion. Ralph has shared stages with Konono No 1, Amon Tobin, Pinch, Kode 9, Digital Mystikz, Luke Vibert and Grace Jones, and played nights as grimy as the Warrior Dubz tour, and as cerebral as the White Cube Gallery in Whitechapel. As well as BLOC, he's also done the other biggies, Sonar and Glastonbury.
We've gone all out with the support as well with two more live sets. T-Woc will be doing his first live set in a long time, with some super fresh material, and Major Grave will show why he's one of Ireland's most thrilling new producers with his ruffneck dubstep sound. Our man Richie !k will be on hand with the platters that matter.
Not only that, but upstairs, the A$$quake crew have Martelo playing - he's Santogold's Tour DJ so you can expect some serious, cutting edge party vibes.
