do you have the manual you got with your wireless router? (the router is the box thingy that's plugged into the dsl box near the phone socket. It probably has one or two stubby aerial-like things sticking out of it. Anyway, you can usually configure them by typing an IP address into yr browser (it's sometimes 192.168.2.1, but it varies by manufacturer) once you have that, you can get into the setup and try changing the channel it's using

are you running xp ? sounds like windows and the belkin adapter software are both trying to control the adapter, hence the reason why it is dropping the connection. we had the same problem with cisco adapters installed in PC's running XP in work. if that is the case you will have to tell windows not to control the wireless adapter....

See the icon of the computer with three lines beside it in the bottom right of you r screen?
Right click that, click "View Available Wireless Networks"
Click "Change Advanced Settings"
click the "Advanced" Tab - i think
Uncheck the "Allow Windows to manage this device" box.

after you have done this you should then right click on the icon in the right hand corner of your screen for the belkin wireless adapter and configure that for your wireless network, ie, make sure the wireless ssid name is picked in the adapter settings, and enter the wep key if you are using one (which is strongly advised.........)
