i was in the airport the other day waiting to collect some relations, kinda wished i'd had my laptop with me cause everyone else seemed to be availing of the free wi-fi.

got me thinking, does anyone know places that have free wi-fi about town?
also do many places charge for internet use and how much is it?

loadsa free networks - crowe street, any bagel factory place, jurys etc, and the signal generally stretches a wee bit for scrounging

You have to buy some t-mobile credit thingy. I tried it before. your browser redirects to a t-mobile site to pay for it, as far as I remember.

Yeah - just enable WEP on your router and also make it just respond to the MAc addresses of your machines...It keeps the casual hacker out..

It's wasn't free at the airport when I was there and it's not free in Jury's Inn's, but is I think for the full Jury's. Was when I was in Cork anyway.

However, if it's free at certain points in the airports, can someone let us know where?

I used it for sure in the Departure lounge - but that was well over a year ago.
