hey helpful types!

I've been approached by a representative of a band to record a show in Whelan's just for their own archives and wanted to know if anybody was aware if they had facilities on the sound desk in Whelan's to record a show and if not are they a bit 'precious' about recording of the gigs in there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you recording god talking soul?

they're fine about recording, but you'll need to bring along some kind of recording device to plug into the desk. in past experience they're usually cool with that

eh... why dont you just email them and ask?

They used to have a digital desk that you could pay them extra to use. or you could bring your own, ask them to put you in touch with the engineer, pay him a bit extra and get him to come in early...
