Wow. Poor ol Mike Love seems to have caught a dose of Brian Wilson's craxiness. I saw the Beach Boys in The Point in, I think, 1989, and Mike sang wildly out of tune for the whole thing. I didn't care, or actually I didn't notice until I bought the bootleg tape of it

Me and my buddy Yank hung around the door of the Westbury Hotel the next day for hours and eventually got out photos taken with Al Jardine. That was ok, but what we really wanted to do was hook up with those amazing blonde song-and-dance girls that had been setting my loins on fire during the gig

Daughter Shawn (from an affair with Shannon Harris *Dec. 1964). Shawn Love has passed away September 2003 and the National Enquirer has a story on the subject slamming Mike Love.
Quoting the article, " 'He can save my life and at last show me he cares about me' Shawn told (her friend Barbara). For 20 years, right up to her death, she begged him to pay for a liver transplant, but he refused. His heart had turned to stone." On October 8 Love admitted to THE ENQUIRER that he was contacted by his daughter for help- but it was too late!"
