Sittin here, bored, surrounded by Macs.

Everyone I know uses their Mac in a completely different way to the other.

You can tell the PC users, who tend to swear a lot (I do the same when using a PC).
Sometimes I watch and think, jaysus there is a keystroke that would stop you doing all that pointing and clicking dude... But. whatever works I spose....

With newer versions of OSX there are a million options on how to navagate around your workspace.

Some people can't live without dashboard for example, me, I've never used it.

My favorite will always be Expose. I literly can't live without it.

Whats yours?

(You can tell I'm real bored today cant you?)

explain quicksilver to me. it seems to be all the rage with every1.

You're best to just get yr feet wet with it in order to get how useful it can be but generally it saves a lot of mousin' around. Control itunes when yr in a different application without switching, Move shit between folders/Drives without opening finder windows or using the mouse, extra little controls on quicktime like jump back 5 seconds. Most stuff can be set to keystrokes so you never need to open quicksilver itself. Obviously it can just be used as a launcher, without having to look for the application etc. But you should really look into it if you haven't. There's a stack of tutorials, podcasts and shit out there that can demonstrate some very useful potential uses.

Curious Ian, why the aversion to the Dashboard?

Thats exactly what my problem was yesterday...
Too nice of a day teasing me through the studio window...
Good thing it's bleak enough today, I might actually get some work done...

No aversion to It, just that have zero use for it.

Seems a bit gimmicky really, although I thought it was cool when it was first released and thought id use it constantly (bit like iCal (which I too, never use)) but no. It the point I get a little fright when I accedentally activate it...

Actually, I think I'm confusing the Dashboard for the Dock. The Dashboard is the place where Widgets hide? Yeah, rarely use it myself. 'cept for one torrent searching widget. I got stacks of them in there though.
Nobody uses iCal, right?
On the Dashboard, would it be possible to put regular apps/documents in there, i.e. instead of widgets? That could be useful, maybe.

when you press F9 or F10 or F11.
you know when all the windaz go flyin about or move to highlight the one you're using.
it;s in preferences too to set the buttons for it.
jayzus La La!

cooooooooooooooooool! the f10 thing makes it go back a bit and a bit blurry.

the f11 thing i already had going on but i just swing the mouse into the top right hand corner. the f9 is my new fave thing :)

what i'd don't like is why macbooks fall asleep when you close the lid. and none of the work around apps seem to be working with the current OS updates. crazy seeing mac fanboys defending this non-native functionality with stuff like the machine will overheat, etc. closing a lid on a laptop and leaving it on isn't rocket science.
