I believe in love by The Darkness. (or whatever it's called)

Not sure about that album though......
A touch of the ironic rockers about it.

thing is
It is sending up some elements of poodle rock but it's totally reverential too - they grew up listening to that sort of stuff and genuinely do love it. It's not a comedy record but it is fucking hilarious - love on the rocks with no ice being a case in point. It's not been offa me stereo since I got it.

FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! now 'hella good' by no doubt is in my brain!!! damn you spectraljanitor!!!

sorry dude!
it can be fixed by humming her husbands band's top tune - "Swallowed" by Bush (Hang yr head in shame mr. albini!)

Telstar - by The Tornados......it was on a fairy liquid ad i think.Pretty addictive tune...

I see advertisments now using Shuggie Otis(phone ad?) & Os Mutantes(car ad).....weird

phew... i managed to persuade it to sing kate bush's bootleg version of sexual healing... all is well again. :)

deadly! that plays in my head whenever the shit hits the fan!

its like a theme tune for a bad day
that's the whirly-girly, hurdy-gurdy music, innit? i can still remember the weird dance yer wan does at the start of the program, like a kind of gypsy precursor to Madonna's 'Frozen' dance.
that program was cool, in an awfully subversive british sort of way.

When it comes to songs playing in your head, the most powerful and potentially dangerous piece of music ever written is 'Spanish Flea' by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

If you have some shit song on the brain and can't get rid of it, there are a number of old reliables you can fall back on to scour your head of everything else. (e.g. copacobana by barry manilow is like a potent head laxative..)

but when, and only when, nothing else works, start humming 'dadadada! da daa daa daaaa! dadadada! daa daa daa daaaaaaa...' and it will as if you have only ever heard one piece of music in your entire life.

but be careful.. i once had it going round my head for three whole months, every waking hour...

no, not copacabana!!!!! mention not that song in my prescence!!

a few of us in work have been doing different versions with each others names in them over the last couple of weeks. lewd, bawdy, lascivious, risqué, ribald even. it's beyond a joke.

Tijuana Taxi's a pretty good one as well.
bada-BA-BA-BADA-BAH
bada-BA-BA-BADA-BAH
bada-BA-BA-BADA-BAH
bada-BADA-BAH
ba-da-da-DAH

and repeat.

My mental jukebox is a bit crazy today and has been playing a medley of:
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Little Eva/Kylie - The Locomotion
Kristin Hersh - Spain

and

'Noone can solve a problem like Maria' from The Sound of Music.

Explanations on a postcard please...

Silver Lady by David Soul out of Starsky and Hutch. Blame the Chili King.

Tired of drifting searching shifting from town to town
Ev'ry time I slip and slide a little further down
I can't make it if you won't take me back after ev'ry thing
I put you through but

Honey you're my last hope and who else can I turn to?

Come on Silver Lady take my word
I won't run out on you again believe me
Oh I've seen the light it's jklst one more night without you
Here I am a million miles from home
The indiana wind and rain cut through me
I'm lost and alone
Chilled to the bone
Silver Lady

It's "How do you"

How do you solve a problem like Maria

How do you hold a moon beam in your hand

*ahem*

Indeed you are right. I hang my head (with it's misleading jukebox and inaccurate lyrics) in shame. It's back to the Julie Andrews Academy for me... :(
