If it wasn't for Clint Eastwood I think Gran Torino would have been the worst film I've ever seen. Clint: deadly, Rest of film: shockingly bad.

Brilliant. But I was glad I had a bottle of wine nearby, an 8-week-old puppy snoozing on my tummy and good friends with me, cos holy fuck it gets a bit grim at times.

Thomas Turgoose is amazing. I saw Somers Town last year and loved it. Will have to hunt down some more Shane Meadows stuff - he makes good movies.
