i wonder if any of you could help me out with something thats been troubling me for some time? ok . too personal. how about this one then: why is it that despite the irish predeliction for alchoholic beverages you can not find a pint of bitter anywhere in this country? just across the water they have a million different kinds of bitter, ale and other forms of beer of varying quality and taste. but in ireland its either lager or guiness. could it be that the reason for this anomaly is that the irish are bitter enough as it is?

how would we know why you can't get bitter in America?
i am not in america. does that answer your question? try to read the entire paragraph next time so that i dont have to explain every little twist and turn. thank you.

its a good question, miji, a good question.
firstly, i find that the irish tradition has been ale's and ciders, and some lagers, but as time has gone on, lagers have been so aggressively marketed that they now have a large share of the drinking market.
bitters have never really travelled over here, partly because they make your crap go funny.

hope this helps,
Jaz Coleman
