What did he mean by that? Painting pictures leads to....something he strongly disagrees with?

Painting pictures leads to having henchmen with stripes painted on their faces maybe. Eric Roberts didn't seem too impressed with that. I think James Earl Jones may have told him it was a bad idea in one of his spiels about teamwork in the Best of the Best.
