Thought this film was DUNG of the highest order. Could have been well good but of course Spielberg had to throw in a very annoying dysfunctional family sub-plot. Ray and the 2 kids have just seen a city destroyed and countless numbers killed by MASSIVE Alien tripods so they drive to his ex-wifes house and make peanut butter sandwiches and have a discussion about how he is a bad father!!! What the fuck!

this film was cockchoke and no mistake. The scenes with the blood and stringy bits all over the field looked like filmsets. I hate it when my brain can notice these things. Do it out doors!!!!!!

I hate Dakota Fanning. I kept hoping Crazy Tom and family would be killed, but no. They shoud have at least let Tim Robbins kill Dakota Fanning. in life too.

Extremely disappointing movie.

Like everyone I kept hoping the kids would be ray-gunned by the aliens. I also thought Tom Cruise was about the only good thing about the movie, and it pains me to say that.

Not a patch on the book. Or on the movie Minority Report for that matter, which had the same Director and Main Man too.

the aliens planted those things in the earth before humans inhabited it, so why didnt they just fuckin stay there before humans could evolve? (or did they need the humans to make the earth look red and stringy.......?)

i have to say, the thinsg that freaked me out most were the clanking noises of the machines when croooooooz and faaaaaaaning were in the basement. you know when you can hear whats going on outside? that repetitive clanking....ack.

I thought this was great. I wanted huge alien machiney things and people getting fried and it delivered them to me. Acting schmacting. Script schmript. HG Wells wasn't a very good writer anyhow.

HG Wells was a great writer. I'd say he was a genius in fact. Unless you were being funny, in which case... carry on.
