After a few years of trying to hook it up, we've finally managed to book Venetian Snares to play live at static.

Aaron Funk (aka Venetian Snares)hails from Winnipeg in Canada. Since his debut 12" in 1999 on a small Mineapolis label, he has reisen out of the drill&bass/breakcore mire to become one of the most astonishing (and popular) musicians working in the experimntal electronic sphere (alongside Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Boards of Canada). Each new album from Aaron brings with it a new sound, a new atmosphere, a whole new world - he never repeats whats gone before.

"chocolate wheelchair" his 10th commercially avaiable album, is his hook laden opus - five out of the ten tracks incldes a vocal performance (of some description). I t could be described as a mutant post-punk ragga jungle pop music for an alternative reality. Aaron just calls his music surrealism.

no not hecate. the singer he had at ATP. she went on a bit and kind of couldn't keep up and looked a little silly (although she was brave as hell).

Nymphomatriarch is the album your talking about. 'pervs' and the like. you recogise the occasional oooo and ahhhhhh and hecate and the obvious ass-slap samples and bits of them talking to each other. so romantic. so sweet.
