Users disappearing Apps??? (1 Viewer)

I'm having a weird problem with User Accounts-My Admin account on PowerBook is fine, but when logging in as a different user-My missus for example-there only seems to be aliases of folders and apps and no actual applications as such.So for instance when I try to open an Excel document or Photoshop file etc. it says that it can't find the Application to use to open the file-ALL the alias are doing this.The files are fine themselves(if I open them from "my side" the apps are there to open the files-and do so fine)...I'm confused.

anyone...anyone....Bueller?

take a sample file, any one of the ones that won't work across the two users and check the permissions and ownership on it - [apple]+i - you should find the information on which users are allowed access to it (read or write). If it's set to one user, change it to everyone and see if it works. if it does, do the rest.

this sounds like the kind of problem that might be solved this way.

Thanks guys but it turns out that I had my applications in an applications folder in my home folder(somehow).I moved them to the root/Applications folder and everything is now totally rock'n'roll
