USB stick weirdness (1 Viewer)

Anyone seen this before? Files of this name just magically appeared in a bunch of folders on my usb stick and can't be deleted/renamed/etc... the files also have a size of 0kb.

should i just reformat?

I'm wondering if this is similar to the mysterious infinite-empty-folder syndrome where a folder suddenly turns into an infinitely deep set of russian dolls of itself?

That type of thing can happen if you just pull it out of your machine without unmounting (safely removing) first. They are probably files\folders that weren't properly written.
