Breaking News
Federal Officials investigating the aftermath of the New York and Washington DC terrorist attacks have arrested and are currently questioning members of an organisation called 'Girlie Action Media', who are a promotional company for various different music artists.
Officials are questioning them regarding the whereabouts of Oakland duo 'The Coup', a revolutionary rap group whose previous albums include titles such as 'Kill Your Landlord' and 'Genocide'. The cover to their most recent album, 'Party Music', depicts the duo in an aggressive stance at the base of the World Trade Centre, detonating it with a remote control device. The FBI wish to question them over their hardline anti-authoritarian views.
The album cover has already brought strong condemnation from American Congressional Senators and influencial lobby groups. One senior source in the FBI said that such material in various media, including print, recorded music and Internet web sites, would come under close scrutiny for any indications of involvement in terrorist or dissident activity. The American Council for Civil Liberties has hit back, with a spokeswoman saying that 'freedom of expression must not be curbed as a knee-jerk reaction to these horrible events. It is an inherent part of a democracy which we cherish and any moves to stifle it would not reflect the values we hold dear'.
