I'm using an old-ish iMac, running osx 10.4.11. Its a great machine, I've never had any trouble with it. But I'm noticing some sites won't work too well on it. The browser is Safari 4.1.3. I was thinking of upgrading, the browser at least. Can I do this and keep osx 10.4? or do you have to upgrade the whole system?

I'm wondering will the mac be able for it. I'm not going to buy a new one.

Here's the spec:

Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz

There comes a point where your OS can only run a certain Safari. I've hit that with OS10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10. There are some things that it just won't do any more and I need a newer Safari (reading messages sent to a "page" on friendface for example), luckily Firefox works fine for those things. So give that a try.
If not then at least consider going to 10.6+. Your mac should be well able for it and I've found 10.6.8 to be rock solid.

I can't install Spotify....thought I couldn't install Netflix, I just did....Its fuckin' rubbish.
