This is gas. I was looking for something completely different and I came across the website that lists the popularity of american baby names for the last few years. anyway I seen in the bottom right corner you could search the popularity of a name over the past few years.

After messing about for a bit I was curious and entered the name "chandler". In the year 1995 Chandler jumped from being ranked no.348 the previous year up to no.177. Friends having aired in the second half of '94!

Phoebe jumped from no.817 to no.583

Joey actually got slightly less popular

Monica stayed about the same

Ross went from no.311 to no.268

and Rachel was pretty much popular anyway

Thought it was gas with Chandler and Phoebe jmping so high tho'

I found a few others like in 2001 the name Mohammed had made it to no.481 but dropped the next year to 570... hmmmm
