Trost, the new band of Berlin Chanteuse Annika Line Trost (Cobra Killer), whose new LP, trust me, is receiving rave reviews and is a brilliant mix of french pop and 60s psychedelic ye-ye with vocals in German, English and French, will play their first ever Irish tour in Jan 2007.

Shows announced, Jan 25th Dublin, Kennedys
Jan 26th Cork,
Jan 28th Galway.

someone handed me a flier for this on the way out of the Six Organs gig last month. It sounded really interesting. Then I went to check her myspace and its one of those sites where they give you 'snippets' of songs, rather than the whole thing. It was hard to gauge from the snippets what it'll be like.

I'll probably still go. The bit on the flier where it said 'it wouldn't be for everyone' really got me interested.

where's the cork show on?

The new album's top notch... some pretty acomplished players
on the record too (Thomas Wydler of Bad Seeds/Die Haut fame for one)

And there'll be fancy vibraphones for this one to give that authentic sleezy
french pop sound... no holes barred on this one I'd say....

Here's the above mentioned flyer details....

Twisted Robot Presents:

Event: TROST (aka Annika Line Trost of Cobra Killer)
Venue: Kennedy’s, 30-32 Westland Row, Dublin 2
Date: Thurs 25th January 2007
Time: 9pm ‘til Late…
Late DJs: Annika Line Trost plus Guest DJs

TROST, Berlin chanteuse Annika Line Trost strays from the electro-punk remit
of her German Shock-Schock combo Cobra Killer in favour of a more organic,
rockabilly-meets-David-Lynch noir with healthy nods to Nick Cave and the
Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster on Diazepam.

If you don’t like seedy sixties French pop or foreign films with an eccentric
female protagonist, you may balk at the idea of Trost. Whether she sings in her
native German, French or English, Trost provides an aural pick and mix with a
few hidden razor blades. The 29 year old Berliner and band will play tracks
from both her albums 'and ‘Trost’ and ‘Trust Me'. If you like things a little darker
and dirtier then this show is highly recommended.
