Me thinks the offical explanation goes that this is a top 100 movie stars list, so acting is only a variable in deciding who goes where. Other shit to consider is persona, drink and drugs, sex appeal blah ablah blah.

But if it was a movie star list are directors not considered movie stars???? Martin Scorsese was top banana in the wild director stakes and appeared cupla times in movies so you can class him as an actor.
Also the midgets from the Wizard of Oz.
Those mad bastards turned the set of Wizard of Oz into a brazen whorehouse- dealing, fighting, sodomizing each other with set pieces ( the wiced witch's broom and the mini monkeys). At one point the producers hired a load of security to drive around in golf carts and beat the shit into any uncoth midget who was acting in an offending manner.
I dont know if you would list them as a collective or as tiny individuals though.

What about the ferocious performance of the oversized beast in Anaconda? It was a physical manifestation of Hemmingway at his beast... sorry, best.

And the 74th Dalmation was a joy to watch... a subdued but powerful performance, showing the inner rage through carefully executed yapping and yelping.

thought it unusual that pacino would rank higher then your jimmy stewarts, steve mcqueen's and carey grants but i guess he has the screen presence and the legacy of scarface and godfathers parts 1 and 2 to his credit. couldnt understand ewan mcgregor's ranking at all.

like most polls, it's kinda period specific, it's always gonna be dominated by the current big names, and the people considered to be the best at the time ala the q magazine poll in 1997 which named ok computer the best album of all time(at least i think it did?).
I just think it's obscene that Robert Mitchum isn't on the list. and peter sellers is only 57th
