yeah he's ace.....any live dates coming up. He played the Barbican recently as part of the Tropicalia series. Read a good review in Wire.

I was at the Barbican gig, which was mostly devoted to the new material. I didn't understand any of the lyrics and his attempts to explain in English what was going on were mostly incoherent, but it sounded typically Ze. Very good gig on the whole, much better than the Mutantes one. It was great to see him jumping about like a 70-year old crazy dude.

So jealous. It was during my exams. Would have loved to see him.
Heard he was deadly in the Jazz Cafe a few years ago with Tortoise as his backing band. I think David Kitt tried to book a gig for him here in the Shelter. He couldn't do it, but sent a handwritten letter in apology. Mad but kindly
