anyway, high on fire were fucking amazing. pelican were terrible though. surprisingly interesting enough for 2 or 3 songs (if totally passable in the grand scheme of things). then they just got boring and from there became atrocious quickly enough. was praying for it to end by the last song. high on fire though ... gig of the year

I think that Matt Pike looks almost too metal to be true ,and that's half the attraction of the live show. It's not just the sound, but the visual dress, the shear passion behind the playing, and the enthusiasm of Pike from the first chord of the set to the last. I can't think of anyone else who has ever looked so metal, and looked so happy to be playing metal at the same time, in all my life.

ONCE AGAIN - GIG OF THE YEAR!

Pike should be an inspiration to us all in terms of putting on a live show. No more staring at your shoes or looking so engrossed in your own songs that you may as well be playing to(with) yourself at home in your bedroom.
