urm, d'yeh think there'll be tickets on the door? i could leg it to the shops after work if not... what are they, 8, 10 quid? available from the usual places no doubt?

Afraid the Bearded one is at the far cooler venue of McHugh's in Drogheda tonight *cough*.
What with the playings of Large Mound and The Dudley Corporation.

If any of the bearded ladies going to see john want to have a chat with me after the gig, I'll be in the corner crying because I'm so lonely. Maybe I could read you some of my poetry? A lot of it was inspired from the improvised poetry from Dead Poet's Society.

here's a sample..

Lady lady run to ground,
Let me kiss you for a pound,
The silence of love pounds my brain,
Like a broken carriage on an invisible ghost train'
Shrieking shrieking shrieking,
Shrieking shrieking shrieking.

I have thousands more poems just like that. See you tonight then?

Yeah there'll be tickets available on the door, and they're available in road aswell, £10

vin ... oh vin, oh vin, get you head out of that oh vin. it will seem small and twatty in a month or so...

Lady lady run to ground,
Let me kiss you for a pound,

Like a broken carriage on an invisible ghost train'
Shrieking shrieking shrieking,
Shrieking shrieking shrieking.

Oh vin oh vin it is me
Who loves you for your poetry
Tonight you shine in God's full glare
With lousy feet and mousy hair
Freaky freaky freaky
Freaky freaky freaky

Ye'll hear no more of that shite from me!

D'ye want yer go?

Pram were great despite the efforts of a lot of people to drown them out with incessant natter. Anyone who wanted to hear them had to go right up to the front and stick their heads inside the speakers.

That's only standard Whelan's chatter level though - Pram were very quiet. Like Paul O'Reilly quiet.

That'll learn 'em, bringing their own soundman, heh, heh.
Another blow to globalisaton! Local knowledge beats imported skills yet again!

Future Pilot aka sucked. Not exactly the tightest performance...

Liar. Fututre Pilot was great.
One of the funniest performances I'd seen in years, a total reminder that sometimes music can JUST be fun and not some poncy over intelectual attempt to save the world.

He quite obviously was having some serious sound problems on stage but rather then humph around and sulk (as I've seen many bands do) he made the best of it. Shambolic?, yes. Rubbish? no way.

The Jimmy Cake were great though, my first time seeing them and they rocked.

Pram were nice, when people shut the jaysus up.

yeah it one thing that can piss me off about whelans is the crowd of nattering fools that seem to want to chatter for the whole duration of the gig

have ye noticed too that it gets a lot worse when they open the doors up from the bar??

i say they should introduce cattle prods for crowd control!!!

or big sticks... yeah with nails and stuff
