The 'share a song you can't stop playing' thread (2 Viewers)

In around 1992 I "borrowed" a mixtape (which I still have) done up by a friend's uncle or brother, I'm not sure. I was a teenage metaler who was rapidly becoming sick of one dimensional metal and this tape got me into a whole load of new music. On it was The Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, Lush, This Mortal Coil, Kate Bush, Go- betweens, new Order ect....and this song by the Cranes

Choooin

freaky - i just opened this thread and was talking about this exact song to my housemate....

here is my choice:

YouTube - Pulp - Something Changed

I love when freaky things happen. Lately, any time I look at the clock its 10:10, 16:16, 09:09 etc. Almost all the time! Its crazy

And I was talking about Pulp in work today, but in fairness that was about 10 hours ago. We were having bets on how many albums they had. Loads by all accounts..

Thats a great song. I forgot about how nice the strings were...

album version is better, vocals are stronger and it sounds cleaner, but I love the power pop feel to the chorus

I think it's just the intensity of these two songs, i'm generally not a metal fan.

"'Silently' condenses the sum of the band's skill with shoegaze pop into just a few minutes of blissful, airy music that gets better and better with every play."

Hard to disagree with that.
