The Electric Fix #21 presents
The Radio
Band on an Island / Million Dollar Shoes

Wednesday September 13th / Temple Bar Music Centre
Doors 8pm / 6 Euros

Combining the stomp, punch and power of all that is vital in rock music with sultry and seductive electro, The Electric Fix #21 brings you “A Night of Pure Energy”, where style and substance don't need to compete for your attention.
Recently celebrating its first birthday and inspired by Tony Wilson’s Factory nights, The Electric Fix celebrates all that is rock, indie, electro and down right sleazy and features the best in breaking Irish music whether it rock hard riffs or stomping synth bass lines.
TheEF #21 features the fantastic THE RADIO, BAND ON AN ISLAND and Wexford favourites MILLION DOLLAR SHOES.

The Radio
The Radio are guitarist Stephen M, Liam Mulvaney and vocalist Caroline Lee Baker. The live band includes Florida Dave on bass, Hugh Byrne on drums and Sarah Jane Farrell on Keys.
The Radio released their debut album 'Kindness' on Reekus Records in August 2004 to huge critical acclaim. Since 2004, the band have appeared at various festivals around the world including CMJ (New York) Midem (France) eurosonic (Holland) and In The City (UK). Following successful shows in both London and Dublin the band have been featured on BBC Radio 1 shows hosted by the musical maverick 'Alan McGee' (Creation/Poptones).

With the single 'Whatever gets You through Today' taken from their album finding its way on to the radio air waves in both Ireland and the UK as well as the song featuring in hit USA TV series 'Grays anatomy' and new movie 'Imagine me and You'. They band received 2 Meteor nominations in both 2005 and 2006 and with a new album in the works for Autumn 2006, the future is looking bright for The Radio.

Band on an Island
Band in an Island are Ciaran Dwyer, Rob Mockler, Andrew O’Donnell, Gavin Elsted and Eimear Dempsey, all from Newbridge. Forerunners of a thriving music scene in the town they are leading a music momentum here. Playing to gigs of fans singing along to every word of their rock and dirty roll songs, their music has encapsulated a mood.
Not only is it music they are passionate about they are young people growing up in what can still be seen as a small town. That in itself poses its own problems and realities and they are passionate about perceived views of teenagers and early twenty-something’s. Band on an Island write songs about protest, about narrow mindedness, and they exorcise their grievances through music. The words are honest and heartfelt.

Million Dollar Shoes
Formed in 2002, Million Dollar Shoes are a pop rock band from Wexford that really know how to pack a punch. They make music and the music is good.
