thee oh sees are real good, no cork gig though :(

THEE OH SEES UK TOUR!

“San Francisco’s John Dwyer used to push primitive blues-rock to ultraraucous extremes in Coachwhips. His current band, Thee Oh Sees (formerly OCS), also draws on vintage styles—woozy ’50s-style pop, Troggs-like stomp—but it funnels them into something hushed and pervasively eerie.” Time Out, NY

"It is prolific. I'm lucky to see it. Hear it. Not be fired from it." Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio & recording engineer)

Somewhere beyond nostalgia, beyond the garage, somewhere beyond the fireside song and supposed goo-rock, you will find the latest incarnation of Thee Oh Sees (formerly OCS), now a quartet composed of John Dwyer (OCS, Coachwhips, Pink & Brown), Bridgid Dawson, Petey Dammit and Mike Shoun. Their latest album weaves Dwyer's signature AM radio howl with the catchiest of driving tunes, Dawson's gorgeous harmonies, thick spring-reverbed bombast, mighty drums and an undeniable pull.

New album, The Master's Bedroom is Worth Spending a Night In produced by Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio) is out on Tomlab on 26th May 2008.

Thee Oh Sees are one of San Francisco’s hottest bands right now - catch 'em while they're here!

“This music, these people... offer nothing but proof that songs... and sound for that matter... can play us as instruments.” - Dave Sitek, TV on the Radio.

“…prime-time Donovan then mix in dollops of shoegaze atmospherics and unfiltered California vitamin-C.” – Boomkat

“A stylishly taut, maddeningly catchy new album.” - Time Out, New York

If you've followed the San Francisco underground for the past ten years, you might already be familiar with John Dwyer. Dwyer's bustling résumé includes the manic garage trio Coachwhips, noise duo Pink and Brown (he was Pink), scorching garage-rockers the Hospitals and even the oddball techno identity Zeigenbock Kopf.

Dwyer's “new” band is Thee Oh Sees. “New” because they've been around for six albums—albeit in different incarnations, under several different names - OCS, Orinoka Crash Suite, Orange County Sound, Orc Cyclops Sorcerer, the Oh Sees, etc. with several different sounds.

Somewhere beyond nostalgia, beyond the garage, somewhere beyond the fireside song and supposed goo-rock, you will find the latest incarnation of Thee Oh Sees. The prolific Dwyer contends again for best album of his career with The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In, out now on Tomlab (Final Fantasy, Why?, Deerhoof).

Following 2007's understated Sucks Blood, The Master's Bedroom... weaves Dwyer's signature AM radio howl with the catchiest of driving tunes, gorgeous harmonies, heightened fidelity, thick spring-reverbed bombast, mighty drums, and an undeniable pull.

The tracks were recorded by punk guru Chris Woodhouse (The A-Frames) in San Francisco except three which were done with Chris Moore and Dave Sitek in New York City. From the introductory wailing feeback of “Block Of Ice” to the heavy-footed trudge of “You Will See This Dog Before You Die,” you will be captivated.

The Masters Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In - out now on Castle-Face/Tomlab Records

Also available via Secretly Canadian Distribution

Coming soon – “The Hounds of Foggy Notion” - a long form live DVD/CD
