So went to see the film last night. Rather liked the book (so kill me) so was half looking forward to the film. Almost everyone leaving looked pissed off. First hour was crammed to bursting point with info. Next 25 odd minutes was a little more relaxed but a trifle boring. Last hour was a bit "just get it over with". Everyone looked a bit pissed off leaving it, lot of people saying "that was just the book word for word", which of course is going to happen but i suppose if you have a book that's sold 60 million copies you should try add something extra for the film. Overall it was dull and too packed with info. if i'd not read the book it'd be dead hard to follow, and even then the first half was a bit confusing. Maybe if it'd been split into two films it would have been a bit more digestible but...

Yeah, made to be a fixture of christmas for the rest of time i imagine...

any of ye ever read Patrick Suskind's 'Perfume' ?

yeah its deadly. my ma got it for me years ago. I could never equate the good books she would get for me with the complete shite she gets for herself.

i'm her favorite by the way.

Yeah, Tartt's second effort was a real disappointment, gave up after 5 pages
.

Da vinci book was great fun, horribly compelling, like big brother. Enjoyable trash and I'd like to think that most of the historical references are based in scholarship; i sense an impending shot-downedness.

'That makes you the **** *********.... **********.... of ****** *****'

and then half the cinema erupted in laughter.

I didn't know what was going on

edit: SPOILERS FOR FUCKSAKE

the only thing that can spoil this movie/book for you is watching/reading it.

Well Ive only seen the film, but HOLY FUCKIN SHIT!

thats my three word review. Up there, in capitals.
