Introducing The Cool Kids. Simply speaking though, they need no introduction.

Debut single is a taster of things to come from the fast rising twosome. Lead track ‘Black Mags’ draw us in with its hypnotic underlying beat, layered with big bassey drum kicks, dipping low only to let the guitar stabs come to the forefront. Switching styles with the up-tempo ‘What It Iz’ - The Cool Kids cram the track full of scattered high hats snares and pacey narration about their partying antics. Meanwhile ‘88’ is - without pointing out the blinding obvious –about the pairs love for all things 80’s.

Managing to mesh together their old-school influences with ultramodern production The Cool Kids spit out something magnetic, new and electrifying. Like two teens at the back of the school bus, their youthful banter and clearly articulated tongue twisting lyrics end in punch lines that go on like your granny at Christmas dinners.

Since meeting on Myspace 3 years ago, Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks, aka The Cool Kids, have been carefully crafting their brand of ‘retro-electro rap’. Having written, produced, recorded and engineered all of their own music, the pair teamed up with Chi-Town native Flosstradamus to play a host of local parties. In 2007 The Cool Kids joined the boys again on stage @ SXSW – which gathered much interest internationally as well as in the US for them.

Since then things have continued to roll forward for the boys with ‘88’, additional track on the single, and live anthem ‘Mikey Rocks (I Rock)’ being featured on TV series Entourage and a T.V commercial with Rhapsody/Tivo airing now all over the U.S. Things are shaping up nicely for The Cool Kids, they’ve just finished a 30 day sold out tour with M.I.A in the US, the mesmerizing video for ‘Black Mags’ has just been featured on MTV2 and to start the new year they’ll be the cover story of URB magazine.

“We thought we’d only need to press up a thousand CD’s at best.” said Mikey “But when we started getting messages from Sweden, Iceland, France and Germany we knew this may be bigger than we can handle at this stage.” They definitely thought wrong huh?

The Cool Kids continue to gain fans with their live shows – recently sharing the big stage with acts such as De La Soul and The Clipse. Catch the dynamic duo in the UK this February 2008 for a glimpse into the life that is, being a cool kid.

The highly anticipated album ‘The Bake Sale’ is due to be released 2008 on Chocolate Industries.

That was fuckin deadly.

Hip Hop gigs can be great, ya just need to know how to rock the crowd (when there is one).

It was a fantastic gig, I love a good Fresh Prince rap. It was one of the best hip hop gigs I've been to in a while, the crowd were well up for it
