suggested retail price + large diaphragm condensers (1 Viewer)

hey,

i'm looking to buy a couple of large diaphragm condensers tonight and need to know if the place i'm planning on buying them are ripping me off.

is there any place i can go to on the web which shows suggested retail prices for pro audio gear? i'm looking at a pair of Rode NTK's for vocal/drum overhead use, but the shop i'm planning on going to here in T.O. wants $700 apiece for these...i've a feeling that's way too much....if that's accurate, can anyone suggest decent mics in the CDN$450-500 range?

You should check out Gefell, ADK, Crowley&Tripp, Audio Techinca, Blue.. maybe some 2nd hand Akg 414s?
Ebay might be the way to go.
Also, check the classifieds at gearslutz.com (you have to register to see that forum, though.)
