new/restocked distro stuff:
Tapes €3
Drainland - "Recurring Symptoms" discography
The lp, split 10", demo all one one tape, these are left over from the recent Dutch trip, but with slightly revised covers to the batch we brought away. Fancy green tapes that will brighten up the glove compartment of your car if nothing else.
Tentacles "2008-2010"
Do kids still use the term "emo violence" nowadays? Seems like the perfect description for this band. This tape collects two demos by this band, both of which blaze along in the bloody tyretracks of bands like Combat Wounded Veteran, Love Lost But Not Forgotten, In/Humanity and the Witching Hour records roster. Good stuff.
6" €4
Arse Moreira/Ressurectionists - split 6"
Why are people in this country not going absolutely apeshit over Resurrectionists?Every record they've put out has been a face-melter. More crushing German hc power from them here that confirms their position as one of the best bands in Europe right now. Arse Moreira are a slightly mellower prospect, but still pretty intense.
7" €4
Battle of Wolf 359/June Paik - split 7"
Another two excellent new jams from the Wolves that follow nicely from the split with Resurrectionists, while on the flip June Paik bust out the melancholic euroscramz
Dolcim/Hammers - split 7"
US screamo mavericks take on the UK branch of the His Hero Is gone fanclub in an epic battle to the death. Green vinyl.
10" - €5
Battle of Wolf 359 / Resurrectionists - split 10"
Amazing double header here from the UK Picardcore maniacs and germany's most punishing. Highly recommended.
LP - €9
Enabler - "Eden Sank to Grief"
Beautiful splattered vinyl version of the tape that came out a little while back. Best new band I've heard this year by a country mile, 8 massive songs of earthshaking power. Ex members of Today is The Day and Trap Them, sort of like a cross between the two. Absolutely recommended. Bafflingly, this record is on a label run by some dude from Fallout Boy. Go figure. These guys will be huge.
Gas Chamber - s/t
Debut lp by this great new band started by some ex Running For Cover folks. Super fast hardcore punk but with these hyperactive melodic basslines running through it, that sounds vaguely like Cliff Burton playing bass for Siege. A strange description maybe, but it works brilliantly
The Makai - "Embracing the Shroud of a Blackened Sky"
Epic stuff - kind of like the missing link between "Passion" era Catharsis and the ragged dual guitar action of the first Baroness ep. This is basically one long story set to music, and comes with a booklet full of beautiful illustrations and a big poster. Hadn't heard of these guys before, but I'll be keeping an ear out for more after this
Mammoth Grinder - "Extinction of Humanity"
Single copy so act fast - utterly venomous stuff that achieves the perfect balance of punk spirit and early death metal riffing. Absolutely fucking primal.
Moss - "Eternal Return"
Fucking mental packaging (hence the higher than normal price) on this already sold out elsewhere limited one sided lp by this legendary UK ultradoom ensemble. Our pal Elaine did the cover too. G'wan Elaine, you legend. This record is the reason we no longer hold stuff for people by the way, so if you're one of the folks who asked for us to hold you a copy months ago, guess what - these are your copies being put back on sale.
Resurrectionists - s/t lp €6
This is a fucking belter of a record. From the striking gatefold cover to the crisp production, everything about this record is pretty much perfect. Picking up the baton of the old German bands et al and forcing it into uglier, more twisted form than their predecessors - essentially this is politicised, screamo influenced grind that sounds like some lost jam session between Systral, One Eyed God Prophecy and Unruh. Total devastation. The covers got a little damaged in transit, hence the reduced price, so pick this little gem up
Thou/Mohoram Atta - "Degradation of Human Life" split lp
Restock of this already classic split between NOLA's finest sons of the gutter and their thunderous Californian counterparts. Desolate swamp riffage meets a blackened whirlwind of heathen rage. Essential.
full updates and simples on the blog later tonight. The Blind/Heartless is at press, and will be ready when it's ready.
