anyone ever applied for one of these for the states or have any advice on the matter?wanna study in california next year so any help would be great,cheers.

I studied in Chicago on one back in '99. All organised by DCU back here, so can't be of much more help than that. Had to apply at the Embassy I remember.

Unless you're enrolled in a course here that has a sister school that allows overseas study in the states....you know you're going to need to pay the tuition, right? I also believe to have a student visa you need to be taking at least 12 credits (the minimum for a full time student in most places) and pay the application fees.
