Stoat

Dublin/ Galway based three piece Stoat describe their music as comprising "nursery rhymes, singalong choruses, relentless drumming and Russian weirdness with lyrics about ducks, flying dogs, long fingers and south county Wexford". They have released 4 excellent E.P.s and are currently plugging their 'I Wish I Was Stoned' E.P.

Mumblin' Deaf Ro

Ro has just released his debut long player ‘Senor, My Friend…’ on the fledgling Dublin indie label Villain Records. It features some sweet fingerpicking guitar and lyrics about failed writers, lovelorn mental patients and rueful boxers. One uncredited source says: “This album screams pay money for me and then take me home and love me”.

saw capratone a few months back in da2.

lovely stuff. very nice and understated, quite pavementy as well.

although definitely a bit on the quite side if there are loud bastards talking over the gig, atlhough, thankfully they did talk over cian the drummer boys eulogy to unix during a break between songs.

True this is a very unfortunate night to have a gig what with the Muses reunited gig n' all. Surely everyone who is not going to Muses (yeah, losers) should console themselves by going to this gig. That's what I'd be doing if I hadn't bought me tickets months ago, not least because Snakybus, who is reportedly "a complicated mix of light and shade, like a hotel porter with photographs of your girlfriend in his gym bag" will be there. .|..|
