jeez, <<THE NLG>> is gonna have a field day when he gets off work, with all this late 80s indie chat, what?

PS they were okay I guess

I live around the corner from the 80's ! OJ made some excellent excellent stuff, but it's all from 80-83 in my humble. "The Heather's on Fire" has all the lovely Postcard singles and great notes and extras. "Ostrich Churchyard" is great too - it's the original and much better mix of their 1st official LP, "You can't hide your love forever". I love Edwyn Collins' voice - he sounds like a jelly.

If it's 80's indie that's the topic of choice, then THE TRIFFIDS deserve a mention. Wonderful band, wonderful sound, and wonderful songs from the much missed David McComb. Anybody else here aware of these Australian songsters from the 80's? Please don't let me be the only one.:)

if you have to have one make it You Can't Hide Your Love Forever , with the dolphins on the front
Rip It Up and The Orange Juice have their moments too

never got round to buying the Ostrich Churchyard album though.
On my must-get list
