Some upcoming gigs... (4 Viewers)

how was that TM gig? i had a heavy heart when i realised i'd missed it...

Just OK. She only got into it or put any kind of effort into it during the encore really. Played a load of stuff off Hunkpapa though which was nice to hear live - 'Bea' and 'Mania' are the ones I remember. Anyway, that was all a long time ago now. *sigh*

thought it was a big let down. couldn't hear her vocals at all. And it wasn't the venues fault - her amps (2 ac30s) were unbelievably loud and both pointed at the vocal mic. really annoyed me - it was like she was nervous and just turned the amps up to 11... the last time I heard her (HQ) her voice was incredible and much more banter from her too.

great to see them though

here buh

we give out to sallyjl for posting corporate hype stuff, but then we're fine with the upcoming-mcd-gigs spam, so not very consistent, eh? like, serious grounds for accusations of hypocritical double standards

oh fuck this

double standards rule!

I think this was pointed out before, but most of the stuff madouva sticks up would be the types of stuff folks on here would be interested in.

Who is Tom?

If the thread is going to (a) provoke downright fucking rude outbursts from Hag et al, and (b) provoke any number of *ahem* anonymous folk to piss and moan ad nauseum, then I HAVE to leave it up there, like.

Until Pete deletes it of course.

i memember i went to see 'kristen hersh' doin a solo show in islington union chapel, it was completely amazing but she seemed kinda down during the show but at the same time, putting everything into it...
then, when she'd finished, people were cheering for an encore... these 2 guys got up from around the middle section of the seats and made for the stage... when they got close enough for her to see who they were, she produced one of the biggest smiles i've ever seen... you know who they were? can you guess? it was the rest of throwing muses (at the time, david narcizzo(?) and that charles(?) fella on bass... i think she was lonely being on tour on her own and this was the last date and they'd come down to surpsie her... and then what happened? i got to see throwing muses for like 40 more minutes. still one of the bestest ever gigs i've ever been at... oh to *see* fat skier / house tornado etc. being done live...

Here...I just came across an MP3 and this is the best band I ever, ever heard. They are going to be bigger than Marlon Brando (in every sense):

They're a three-piece from New York, who *ahem* specialise in three-minute buzz-pop tunes, lightning riffs and ra ra ra ra.

THE MADOUVAS

"horrifically shit" (The Daily Hole)
"like watching fucking paint dry, while someone drills a hole through your skull" (The Ballybollock Observer)
"gift" (me)

ah now mister, calm down... "downright fucking rude outbursts from Hag et al..." do you have a wasp in your knickers?
