and a thread about vic chesnutt

I'm in heaven

speaking of which, a vic chesnutt quote:

'The idea that there is a heaven has been my enemy for 20 years'.

The version of 'Bloodflow' does suitable justice to the experience of seeing it live. Perfect tension. Not that "perfect tension" is a realistic concept. What the flip.
Also 'Let's move to the country' sounds fantastic live. It was a great band, particularly the cute and talented violinist whose name I never tried not to let escape me...

As for 'Song', is it from Supper? An album i had for a week before a friend borrowed it and ran off to Italy like the lying cheating shit he is. :)

A fourth thread on another excellent and deserving band will be started up within five minutes. Please stand by.

One last thing:

Top five Smog moments...
bloodflow
i was a stranger
river guard
this insane cop (heh)
cold blooded old times (i heard of a band from Galway who covered it once, wonder what happened them...)

The first track on supper makes me cry when I'm drunk (ah no slaggin lads)

'All your women things' is a heartbreaker

I thank the godhead for people like this

The kids got heart...

I love Truth Serum, it's got it all. The story is really funny and smart, and the individual lines are amazing ('How can something be in an empty box, etc.).

Also the 'bom boms' so shouldn't work... but so do...

Faint memories are all I have.

Remember liking Driving quite a lot. And Truth Serum.

As for Rain on Lens. Well. Natural Decline is a superb piece but...

jealous anyone?
Well...i want you dead. I want to watch as hired toughs beat your body into a pale shadow of its former self and then throw you, khyber like, off a cliff. I will be immensely pleased to hear the shattering of bone off the jagged rocks below. And then, at low tide, to see what remains of your person after the crabs has detached with remarkable efficiency any flesh you may have left.

Which is to say I hope you enjoyed the shows. !ninjaaaa

As long as you weren't the guy who during...Blood Red Bird (?) hollered in time with the music.

Take the above paragraph and apply to him...
