A Deep Thought – What about that Slayer getting into trouble with those mammies about that virgin being slaughtered by them blokes?

Do you think if all the metal bands got together and collaborate on all their lyrics to create powerful subliminal messages about fiscal policy and international economics, they could perhaps enable the dark-clad teenagers of America to overthrow the Bush government?

According to their manager, Slayer are as "conservative as the next man". Considering the "next man" is probably a white supremacist republican at the moment where Slayer are standing.....

Whenever I hear of these instances I invariably think of the Decline Of Western Civilisation - The Metal Years film. The bit with the bloke who had shot himself in the face after listening to Ozzy's Suicide Solution and now has the look of a man with an active plunger inside his head.

On the subject of Simon's hypothesis, I'd like to see a remake of the Manchurian Candidate starring Doro Pesche in the Angela Lansbury role, controlling hundreds of metallers who were brainwashed in the Rock Wars.

I dearly hope there are some (other) mid 80s Kerrang! readers who can make sense of this post.
