Has anyone heard the new "Shelter from the Ash" album? Absolutely brilliant. One of my albums of the year.

i know Ben is back over this way in June, so i'd imagine there could possibly be some dates around early Summer

Yep, it's that good! A seriously underated artist. He's released a few absolute classics - Dust and Chimes, School of the Flower........

Don't think it's a long term thing though. According to their website "Comets is taking some time off. We recently had a baby and have also been very busy with our individual work" They're playing a gig on NYE in the US as well. There's hope yet!!

Got this at the weekend, pretty great. Lots of long droney pieces; slowly evolving into creepy folky passages - helps erase Shelter From the Ash from memory.

You didn't like? While certainly not his best work I thought it was a pretty good album

I dunno, it left me a bit cold. Felt a bit 'by numbers' for some reason, like he threw the usual mix of chanty vocals and guitar lines together but none of it really gelled
