Andy, what did you make of Randy?
Try this
Supernaut demo 74,english band who got no further than demos for Vertigo. Supernaut claim they were too heavy for the hippie scum label(vertigo). Apparently they also recorded some Eagles songs for Ariola but were so disgusted they split. I'd love to hear some live recordings.

sloan - the holden stuff was cool
bit too plodding and clean to get me super excited

everybody knows blue cheer were best pre-holden!

I have no FTB unfortunately,I ned some bad though.
Have you heard Bolder Damn? It's been getting some play recently, unfortunately though they are christians. I'll do it next for you.
What about Captain Beyond,Blood Rock,May Blitz.Leaf Hound,Ice Cross etc? I have other stuff but not on cd/mp3
I love this stuff, but I'm only hitting the tip of the iceberg.

that's the shit i'm talkin about! thanks for the heads ups/names

(i would never have guessed you loved dirtbag 70s hard rock!)

Really? Why not? *

How about,Bang,Dust,Buffalo,Josefus,Lucifer's Friend,Warhorse,Flied Egg,Blues Creation?
And don't forget obvious stuff like Grand Funk,Budgie etc.

And some I want to hear myself
Granicus,Damnation Of Adam Blessing,Necromonicon,Stray,Asterix,Ellison
Too much of this stuff and some of it's pretty poor,it's a bit risky sometimes buying the reissue lp's because they can be pricey.

*sarcasm

apart from the obvious, lucifer's friend is the only one of those guys that i've heard
relaly good - guy sounds like bruce dickenson
they do a weirdo zeppelin cover, ja?

It's not a cover, just a straight lift of the riff. But it's a good lift.
Another thing to keep in mind,a lot of the bands first record or two was amazing and then they wimped out big time. I like some of the wimpy stuff, early James Gang is amazing for example, but sometimes it's just too poor.
