Si Schroeder is a six-foot hairy male who makes 'music'. This 'music' has generally sounded like the combined contents of his record collection (mostly classic sixties pop, scratchy old ethnic recordings and the odd bleep or two), on top of which he layers ruminative, whispered vocals about the tough times we all live in and go through.
His adventures have lately brought him into the arms of Dublin tastemakers Foggy Notions (***** Best Album of 2006 for his debut COPING MECHANISMS); nomination for the 2nd Choice Music Awards; and National radio and TV appearances.

An argumentative sophomore album is currently in the works, due for release in early 2009 and to be punctuated by a seasonal EP, available in December.
His live shows attempt to find a bridge between electronics, guitars, drums, percussion, and the combined singing of men, women, children and machines (and, lately, some obscure animals...)

In various guises Si Schroeder has blown PA systems all over Ireland (2007's Electric Picnic and 2008's Future Days Festival notably), and at repeat visits to London's influential Kosmische club, PopKomm Berlin and the very cool GoldmundFestival in the same town, EUROSONIC in Groningen, Oslo, New York's IntelFest, and Chicago. Expect toy pianos and train noises, bleeps and beats (and bleats...)

Cult band Stereolab return with their 11th album 'Chemical Chords' next month and a UK and Ireland tour in December. Considered as one of the first post-rock outfits, their sound encompasses krautrock, Brazilian tropicalia, 50s lounge, French pop, free jazz and art rock in a manner that is utterly fresh and uniquely their own.
