Where would you recommend?
I'm hoping to get away for a few days next week. Had thought of hitting Galway but hotels there are rather expensive for someone on their todd.

Stupid question I know, but what do you like to do? Move about a lot filling your time with as much as possible or sit there thinking how deadly it is that you don't have to do anything except enjoy your surroundings for the next 2 days?

I like going for walks, I like history, I like boozing but will be trying to keep that to a minimum. I like sitting somewhere nice, soaking it all up and maybe reading an auld book.

Stayed at the Woodenbridge Hotel in Co Wicklow with the missus last June bank holiday. It is Irelands oldest hotel and it's where De Velara spent his honeymoon. It is a beautiful location with epic views of the scenery and great for walks too. Their are lots of historic photographs in the lobby and plenty of nice locations to enjoy a read. All I can say is that we had a grand time there - hope that helps.

last time i did this, i stayed in the heron's cove in goleen, which is not too far from barleycove. very short notice to book the place, though.
