Just over a year after their first public appearance they won the norwegian broadcasting company’s annual upncoming band competition Årets Urørt. Since, Honningbarna’s success has escalated far beyond anyone’s expectations. They’ve won the norwegian equivalent of the Grammy Spellemannsprisen in the category rock, and was also nominated as Newcomer Of The Year. Masses have towered up everywhere they’ve played, and the response has been overwhelming. In the spring they were the big buzz in the norwegian music buzz. Now everyone in the country knows who these five 19 year olds are, what they stand for, and that they deliver one of the most killing live shows in the country.
Honningbarna have already long ago crossed the border out of Norway, with live appearances in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Iceland, UK and Ireland, including important festival events such as Reeperbahn Festival, Eurosonic, Iceland Airwaves and Roskilde.
