i think x factor are more into recycling then actual new songs.

however, should you wish to attempt some country music, write about:

marriage
love
god
beer
love
god
work
buddy's
love
being straight
beer

at around 110-130 bpm using only the key's of g, a and d.
use a 7th chord just before the chorus. (this facilitates the key change for the final chorus)
only use rhymes that you can predict.
use a good two liner joke for the bridge.
